Identifying the Assessment Schema
Assessments can be categorised into two different schemes. Judgement-based assessment and objective based. These are outlined below.
Objective based Assessments
Objective based assessments are those that require no judgement on behalf of the assessing teacher. These often include:
- True-false
- Matching
- Multiple choice questions
- Pictorial
- Cloze
- Fill in the blank
- Sentence completion
Judgement based Assessments
These assessments require a teacher to make an educated judgement and moderate student responses based on an agreed matrix or rubric of competent responses. These may include:
