Phase Three: Blueprint the Assessment
The blueprint phase of the assessment model is used to develop an assessment blueprint. A blueprint is a designed document that helps organise the possible methods of assessing a construct.
Ways of Assessing a Construct
When developing a blueprint, teachers consider the various ways in which a construct could be assessed. This in effect, facilitates the idea of differentiation and requires teachers to answer the following prompts:
- What are the different artefacts of learning that we could ask students to do, make, say, or write to demonstrate the capability required by the curriculum?
- How would this be assessed?
- Objectively - clearly correct or incorrect
- Subjectively – requiring a judgement to be made
